A copy of the detailed WDS policies will be distributed at registration in August. Parents/Guardians of enrolled dancers are encouraged to read the policies in order to take responsibility for their role when the contract (registration form) is signed. If you have questions before signing, please call Ginny at 486-5250 or e-mail: This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .

Why is there a $ 5.00 Registration Fee for each dancer? This fee helps to cover the cost of dance studio advertizing and when paid before August registration time, guarantees the dancer a place in class.

What is your attendance policy? When a dancer enrolls in a class it is assumed that it will be for September through the spring performance in May. Since repetition is the key to learning, attendance is important and so is taking responsibility to notify the studio if a student is not going to be in class. We want to know why a dancer is not in class because we care. Absences may be made up by attending a different class arranged with the teacher. Perfect Attendance Awards are distributed on stage at the spring performance.

What awards does your studio present? Spring performance is also the event where 5 year, 10 year and 15 year awards for dancing with WDS are presented. Teaching Assistants and Graduating Seniors are also honored on stage.

How much will dance class cost? 2010-2011 tuition is based $14 per instructional hour.

Monthly Tuition Plan: 1 class that meets for 1 hour per week costs $56. 1 class that meets 45 minutes per week is $42.

PFD Tuition Plan: If you will be receiving a 2010 PFD, you may choose to pay tuition for the September through May dance year in one payment billed to your credit card on October 15.

“Punch Card”: This option is for those dancers who cannot commit to attending a class on a regular basis. You may purchase a “Punch Card” that will “punched” when you attend a class. This option is more expensive, based on $16 per instructional hour. One punch card buys you 8 hours of class for $128 and must be used by the end of April.

Tuition Discounts for Multiple Classes: If a dancer takes more than one class per week, or members of the same family take classes, full tuition is only charged for the 1st class and a discount will be applied to the 2nd class tuition.

WDS policy of only accepting credit or debit card payment on all accounts. WDS will no longer accept checks, money orders, or cash. Your tuition will be determined at studio registration August 26 or 27 when you sign the papers and agree to automatic credit card billing on the 1st of each month. Since our spring performance is May 7, 1 week’s tuition will be added to the April final billing for the 2010-2011 dance year.  Automatic credit card billing means that your credit or debit card number will be held securely in the dance studio computer program. It will be secure and only used to bill registration fees, tuition, shoes, and costume charges to the credit card. The person whose name is on the credit card and signs the registration contract will be agreeing to the terms of WDS automatically posting the tuition charge to the credit card on the 1st of each month September through April (April charge will include 1 week of May); costume deposit charged in December; costume balance charged in January; and dance shoes ordered through WDS charged when ordered. THE SIGNER ALSO AGREES TO GIVE WDS 30 days WRITTEN NOTICE WITH THE SIGNATURE OF THE CREDIT CARD HOLDER ON FILE WITH WDS if the dancer is going to drop the class. If WDS does not receive the written notice by the 1st of the month tuition billing; or the costume deposit date; or costume balance date, the charge will be posted automatically to the credit card.

Why is this policy change necessary? The short and simple version of the answer is that too many people have not paid their bills on time, or have left town without paying, or have not paid their bills at all causing much stress, heartache, and cash flow problems.
